Fascinating Embassy and residence, Maputo - 1

Located in the good scenery, this building has natural environment and good view from outside and inside of the view. The Dutch embassy in Mozambique is located close to the ocean and just outside the centre of the country’s capital, Maputo. The air of this building is always fresh and natural since the building lets the air enter the room through its air circulation. The building has been pushed to the edge of an orthogonal, gently sloping site so as to leave room for a walled garden. The garden of this building is very green and full of flowers that make the building so beautiful and natural. The building and the enclosing walls were conceived as a rough concrete monolith out of which a piece has been cut, allowing the building to open up on this side and leaving space for the garden. The wall of this building is completed with artistic and colorful interiors. The building is completed with cultural facades. This building is actually made of good materials. The materials that are used are good quality. A filigree steel framework of a veranda – a motif borrowed from the local Portuguese colonial architecture, continues in the garden wall where it has been filled up with wooden slats.
