A large exhibition area, facing students, occupies a shed built in the early twentieth century that housed a textile mill. The factory had built railway lines and platforms 140 meters associated with buildings, for input and output supplies. The set, which is under consideration for tipping bodies of historical, still houses one seconds parallel shed that serves as the center of activities to people with special needs. Between the two brick buildings is an open space paved with granite cobblestones and trees, where the trains arrived.
Faced with the need for a new coffee, the proposal was to deploy it on a level with covered deck, place of entry and movement of visitors. The quality of that internal landscape defined the advantage of a new lightweight construction, the proportion of respect and at the same time, to emphasize the delicacy of the place.
The strategy was to avoid work as much as possible interference with existing, so we opted to a metal toilet with 17 meters long and 3.40 meters in width and ceiling height of 2.40 meters. Only two blocks arise Foundation to directly support the new structure suspended. A central beam coverage hangs another floor, and the plans of the floor and ceiling are in balance across. The vedos were specified to avoid overload and distortion: wood, glass and metal brises.
