Inspired from old castle, this house is built with the concept of modern castle. This house has two floors and two towers. The first floor is for living room, kitchen and bathroom. The bedrooms are in the second floor. This house is made partly using wood material. Timber-framed in hemlock—a reference to the owners’ long involvement with Northwest woods—the light core acknowledges its source in Japanese architecture, also expressed in the structure’s horizontal banks of windows, screening devices of glass and lattice, and the engawa itself, a south-facing veranda edge between interior and garden. This house is made with many glass windows to see the view outside. All the windows are completed with steel frames to make them safer and they have good air circulation that make the room keeps fresh. In the front yard, there is green grass and some rocks to make the environment so natural. In the night this house looks so bright, colorful and beautiful since the lights can be seen from the windows from outside.
